The Defence & Intelligence Unit (DIU) is the central intelligence service of the WolvHaven government. The DIU is tasked with gathering, processing, and analyzing national security information from around the world, primarily through the use of human intelligence. The DIU reports directly to the Minister for Home Affairs and the President.

The DIU separated from the Internal Defence Agency (IDA) as a new child intelligence agency on the 1 January 2014 to focus on foreign intelligence while the IDA will emphasize its focus on domestic and internal intelligence. The decision was made in response to the ever-growing threat of spammers, wiki vandals, and espionage.

The DIU's top priorities are counterterrorism, counterintelligence, cyber intelligence and counter plagiarism.

IDA & DIU Merger

On 30 December 2018, the IDA and the DIU merged together under the DIU name. However, the two agencies will remain as separate departments within the greater DIU organization and have been given codenames DI5 and DI2 respectively.

DI5 or the Internal Security Service will focus on domestic intelligence and internal conflicts or threats within the server such as Gardellian conflicts or homegrown terrorism.

DI2 or the Special Security Service the other hand will continue to serve as the foreign civilian intelligence department and continue with the same duties as the DIU prior to the merger.

That's as much information we'll give you. Did you really think we would tell you everything about our operations? Go away.
