The WolvHaven Metro Line 2 is a metro line running along the east side of the city's Wolfminster island and serves the 1st and 2nd Districts of the City. It has 10 stations planned, where 9 are currently open. It is also known as the 7th Avenue line.

Route

The line starts at City Hall in tunnel, running south and turns left to arrive at Liberty. Tracks turn left again and ascend just before Stalingrad. The line then runs North-South along 7th Avenue in WolfMinster island above ground. Just after Parkroyal, trains descend into large twin-bore tunnels. Trains run in an East-West direction along 14th St. in the La Resistance CBD and eventually cross the WolvHaven Strait into Westford island, where it terminates at Esplanade.

Alignment

At City Hall, it is in single-track alignment. The line is widened to two tracks, where all stations to Parkroyal have side platforms. From City Hall to Stalingrad, a single tunnel caters for two tracks. To the north of Parkroyal, the tunnels are large and separated. This enables University, Dakota and La Resistance stations to have island platforms. Beyond Dakota, the tracks are stacked where trains towards Esplanade run below the trains coming from Esplanade. This is to allow cross-platform interchange between Line 2 and Line 3 passengers. Line 2 passengers may cross over to Line 3 towards Parkroyal while Line 3 passengers may cross over to Line 2 towards City Hall.

Services

Currently, Line 2 services are running 12 trains per hour (tph), which is a train every 5 minutes. This is to reduce lag on the server as there are 5 automatic lines in operation. During its peak, it was having a frequency of 40 tph, which is every 1.5 minutes.

Rolling Stock & Operations History

The WolvHaven Metro Line 2 uses the latest M25CA stock and is fully automatic. Service reliability of Metro Line 2 is 90% unlike the troublesome Metro Line 1 which has a service reliability of 50% before its recent upgrade. Unlike the other Metro Lines, line 2 was the first in WolvHaven history to run trains at a set interval of 1.5mins in between each train. This has inspired Line 1 to make the switch from running trains at the closest interval at all times to a set interval as well. (see: Metro Line 1 Overhaul).

Sidings and crossovers

There is a crossover at City Hall for one-track operation. Besides, in the recent SOHO station upgrade, the tracks were replaced and two sidings in between the two through tracks are installed. The sidings are connected on both ends of the through tracks. Because of this, in 2016, trains from City Hall were able to terminate at SOHO or Parkroyal when the tracks at Parkroyal were damaged due to a track block disappearing magically. Passengers had to use replacement buses to commute between Parkroyal and La Resistance. There is another crossover at La Resistance. This enabled works to extend the line to Esplanade to continue without disrupting the line.

Features

Unlike the other metro lines, Metro Line 2 is mostly above ground and is famous for its arched viaducts and parisian styled stations. Soho station is unique because it does not have piston doors on the platforms, instead you must jump up onto the platform from the track. This feature, however is now replaced by piston doors as part of the upgrade programme to the station.
